Operating model / Hybrid Business X

The work was never meant to fit inside one function.

Before AI became a common business tool, I was developing a model for professionals who could move between strategy, systems, instruction, and implementation. I called that family of roles Hybrid Business X.

The original model

Hybrid Business X described a multidisciplinary professional: an architect who can frame the operating problem, an engineer who can assemble the working system, and an instructor who can transfer the capability to the people responsible for it.

Why it matters now

AI increases the reach of a cross-functional operator, but it does not replace judgment, field context, or accountability. The Hybrid Business professional connects those elements so a promising idea can become a usable operating capability.

FDAE: the current expression

The Forward Deployed Agentic Engineer brings this model into AI-enabled work: operate close to the mission, discover the real constraint, assemble the right agents and tools, prove the result, and leave the client with a usable handoff rather than an unexplained demonstration.

Where it shows up

ACHEEVY, MARKIT, Interface.AIMS.WORKS, Broadcast.AIMS.WORKS, NTNTN, and CTI are current systems through which this operating model is being explored. Their public portfolio records distinguish documented scope and reachable destinations from results that have not yet been independently established.
